you know, with the amount of bitching people do about the regents system here, it just makes me angry. THOSE TESTS AREN'T THAT HARD. i always thought that the amount of hype that teachers gave them was grossly overselling the difficulty level, and that was more frustrating than anything else.
When I graduated Karafin in May we had the following, in desecending order, options: Regents w/ Honors, based on test scores alone Regents, with low pass 55 on certain tests for us special education kiddies, mostly on math and sciences GED, considered by some Karafin teachers worth more than an RCT diploma if you have a high score RCT, based on a low 8th grade level Local, based on just showing up every once in a while IEP, based on sympathy and not accepted by a lot of colleges
The tests are braindead easy, and getting easier because of the large number of students that now need them. However, because they keep re-engineering the tests, more kids are getting fucked over, because what is taught is not in line with what is tested.
