Maybe the first two people found it floating in the water in the area of the grocery store, and the third person actually went into the store and took it? Just a thought.
Well, if something's just lying on the floor and you take it, you're not stealing. If you go into someone's house and take something from there, it is stealing.
SE is Sensible Erection (NSFW), a community-based blog. It tends to skew towards liberal politics and pr0n, with a fairly intellectual but frequently absurdist group of people.
who writes the quips that go with the photos? Because if it is the photographers, take note that the photos were taken by two different people. So, it may be one person's point of view that they took stuff, while the other person's POV that the person was a looter.
Either way, those people are trying to survive and neither party should receive the harsh title of "looter" when they were taking life essential supplies.
Do they have RSS? I couldn't find anything on there, but if they do, I can add it to my LJ stuff (which does an amazing job of "SFW"-ifying many text-based "NSFW" stuff).
Actually, I'm inclined to think that the black person is not a looter because of the plastic bag. It makes (her?) look more like someone fleeing a flooded home with all (her?) most important possessions in a relatively water-tight carrier. The other two have so little in the way of posessions, it makes me think they're out to remedy that with a little selective finding.
at least it looks like food they were taking in either case, instead of those that were toting off TVs, and other stuff that obviously they weren't taking to survive.
Ah, so you too have noticed the blatant racism in some of the hurricane coverage?
I'd like to think that the real difference between looting and just trying to survive the crisis is all in what you get. If you're taking food, water, diapers, and that sort of stuff, that's what people need to get along, so that's you surviving. But if you're taking unecessary material objects, then you're just a looter.

..."What is" The MONARCH Butterfly?
...MAN! Because it crawls as a baby and uses a cane in its autumn years!
I'd like to ask the audience! I think I'm gonna go with "YAHOO NEWS ARE TURD ROCKETS!"
That's my final answer Regis!

Anyhow, I'd agree that it is racism.
