On borrowing trouble

I may be a little crazy. I just volunteered to be a candidate to become sole developer of an important internal testing software. It's written in Perl, and the last two developers left the company shortly after attaining that position. Granted, they were clearly planning to leave way ahead of that time. While I am not a programmer by trade, I am very familiar w/ Perl. I do think I can do this.
