So I've learned to notice my cognitive distortions (see link in subject) and combat them. This has shortened the duration and reduced the severity of my depressive swings (not that a regular reader of my LJ would notice...). However, the same tools that allow me to shut down negative thought loops can also strengthen them when something negative happens. It's interesting because my initial response is somewhat neutral but I can feel myself trying to convince me that I should feel bad about it.

Wow, I need to go home rather than go on about this negativity shit.

Be well, all.

I don't really have much to say, I just wanted to start writing.

I realize that I'm rather middle-of-the-road, rather stick-in-the-mud, rather slow-and-steady-wins-the-race, rather than anything approximating exciting. Most of the time this suits me, although it doesn't much make for good stories. I think that's the big reason I've not been writing much in LJ. Nothing interesting has happened to me lately. Well, that's not true, but by the time I get in front of a computer, I've lost the way to make the story of it interesting to anyone (if I even had it to begin with).

A natural consequence of the above is that I tend to surround myself with "weird" people of all stripes. The problem with this is that I don't feel like I really hold their interest. And now that I'm out of school, I spend even less time with others.

I'm not really enticing, nor intriguing, nor alluring.

Fucking LiveJournal, encouraging pity parties.

Tuesday:
Practice as usual. After work, that is.
Wednesday:
Skipped practice as I was very tired from work. Worked on designing the GameCube system thingie me and Nick are doing.
Thursday:
Went to a special Brown and Black Belt practice at Bay Ridge Prep. Very cool.
Friday:
Went to the 4th and 5th Degree tournament and 6th Degree special competition at Bay Ridge Prep. These people are ridiculous. The fact that I'm even in the same organization as them boggles my mind. Nick and I were the only two 2nd Degrees there, and Howard was proud of us for showing up.
Saturday:
Went to general tournament. Went well.
Sunday:
Actually got to see Erin for a while. Very nice.
Monday:
    Werk.
