/me is learning to be a unix geek (okay, maybe not...)

on my grace account, ls is now actually ls -F. Very useful for the baka Peter who forgets things, like, "Is this a directory?"

[chuckling] I giggled a bit when I saw that, since I had to check the man page for ls. Then I checked my aliases. Turns out I have that set as well, so I shouldn't be laughing.

From my .tcshrc file:

alias h history 25
alias j jobs -l
alias la ls -a
alias lf ls -FA
alias ll ls -lA
alias ls ls -F
alias net netstat -f inet
alias e pico -wz
alias su su -m
alias fn 'find . -name "\!*" -xdev -print'

I particularly enjoy e - comes in mighty handy, as does fn. What are you using on Grace?

Mostly Pine (got sick of Mutt... Not too good with vi i am ([livejournal.com profile] faboo should be ashamed of me)), and links. I also use emacs whenever a file needs messing with.

Basic web-editting and storage? Yay for Grace, although they're a little slow for the CPU-intensive tasks.
