Why do you wish for even more unpleasantness? Life happens. You choose how you respond to the emotions life evokes -- but wishing they were otherwise isn't going to make the experience of being anything but filled with unhappiness.
Forgive me for bringing up religion, but in Jewish thought it says that people should have a 64th of a 64th of a temper - enough anger to stand up for yourself when others try to walk over you.
I should have added that it also says you should have that tiny bit of temper to get angry when you see an injustice being done to others - enough to rouse you to try to do something about it.
