It addles, it addles!!!

Why do people drink?

I mean, I know I never have, so I couldn't possibly "understand." And I know its so they feel "accepted," and because it "loosens them up."

But then, why drink so much that you pass out? If you do it to "enjoy the party," then why leave it?

Eh.

Chalking it up to further evidence of people being silly.

Say what? My mother once said to me, "faboo, why do you wear jeans all the time? Don't the other kids at school wear slacks and cackies too?"
I'll never understand why everyone things a faboo has todo things because other people do.
Now listen: alcohol (if you've ever noticed) has a sweet aroma, as well as a sweet flavor in small concentrations. In large concentrations, alcohol is painful to the mouth and carries a flavor more distinct to the watsit that it was fermented from, but still carries a certain "sweetness".
There is a really pleasant level of intoxication called (interestingly) a "buzz" during which your entire body tingles. This is often quite pleasant (and probably why lots of people enjoy drinking with their friends) and can make some activities, like programming, quite amusing.
However, as we all know, alcohol impairs your everything. So once you've gotten to your "buzz" level, it is often quite possible to think that you need to drink just a bit more once in a bit to retain your buzz. This accidently leads to unamusing things such as passing out. Fortunately these sorts of mistakes can be easily avoided by keeping only so much alcohol as is necessary to become buzzed on hand.

As for people who drink alcohol to loosen up, well, they probably need more self esteem, or a greater belief in their personal mortality. Probably both.

All of that now said, you shouldn't do anything, particularly mind altering drugs, because there's a large population of people who do. That's just dumb and lemming like.

Lemmings is a good game though.. ;-)

Of course not, I just wrote this up because there were many addled minds returning from parties last night.

It's fun to be goofy. Well, I'm always goofy, but buzzed goofy is a little different. I've never passed out, or gotten sick, I think in moderation it's fine. Many people do not moderate themselves. I do not condone such actions. Sometimes when you're sitting here in the dorms you just want to do something. It's amazingly boring on occasion, the ol' happy juice is good at passing the time (sometimes you don't feel like doing anything productive). That's how I see things, and I never drank before the last summer.
