Hi Peter, Just your friendly stalker/father here. So one day I decided that I would finally get my driver's license. I had taken the stuppid drivers ed course in high school >:o Well now i wanted to make an appointment for my road test, fat chance, it was a 3 month waiting period >:0 then they told me i needed to take the 5 hour class over again >:o Sooo I ended up going through the yellow pages for drivers ed places.
So here is the skinny. For about $250 you can get a drivers license within a week. Just go to a drivers ed school, and they well give you the class, and test in one long session, and show a couple of videos etc. Then they have appointments reserved or something and they just give you one from their list. They will also teach you how to drive their car which has certain tricks that they will teach you. You use their car for the road test, and they garuntee that you pass, if you fail they give you another roadtest appointment ASAP.
I did this. I went there on a Monday and had driver's license that Thursday. I hope this practical answer helps. Good luck scrounging for $250. I hope all starts looking up with the introduction of this new opportunity.
