When I was seven, I watched the news a lot, and I kept hearing about people being held at gunpoint in petty robberies. So, until I was about nine, I thought Gun Point was a real place and it was just a really, really bad neighborhood. I was finally relieved of this illusion when I asked some adult type (my fourth grade teacher Mrs. Ground, if I recall) why anyone would live in gunpoint if it was where all the robberies happened. I do not believe I have ever quite lived that down.
