A tale of cheap appliances

Tonight, as on most nights, my dad was ironing his shirts in the living room watching the news. I was here, at the computer (in the dining room). I heard a pop and he shouted my name. I ran into the living room and saw the arc and flame. Told him to unplug it which brought the fireworks down a lot, but there was still flame, so I went to the kitchen, wet one of our dishrags and came back to smother the flame.

I guess this means I can add "amateur firefighter" to my resume? ;-)
