Aggressively Horny
AGGRESSIVLEY HORNY- you're horny and do nothing to
hide it! You flaunt it, and make clear what
you're after

What kind of horny are you?

It was nice to have the peoples over. They included, [livejournal.com profile] zsparke, [livejournal.com profile] codepoet, [livejournal.com profile] b55b55, [livejournal.com profile] faboo, Elaine, Ed, and Jon.

B continued her wonderful streak of wonderful cooking.

I was very productive before they all got here, and actually threw out stuff. My mom would be so proud.

We played Mille Bornes afterwards.

Thats about all that is interesting.

So I ask you all a question:
What is it that drives you (or fails to drive you) to perfection?

Mille Bornes?

And an answer: I'm driven to improve myself when I notice (as I do every day, sometimes in new ways, often time in the same places I noticed myself lacking before) that I am struggling too hard at living rather than just letting it happen, or letting myself get upset by unimportant things, or over-analyzing what comes. I try to keep in mind two parts from the Tao Te Ching:

"Honed too sharp no blade retains its edge; treasure filled no room remains secure."

"The heavens last, the earth endures. And the reason they do? By disowning what they yield, heaven can last and earth endure. So, surely, does the world-wise lord, who puts his interests far behind and ends up in the lead, who puts his interest to the side and ends up safe and whole. Is it not so: that having nothig to own, he can achieve his goal?"

I thought you'd say something like that.

Very insightful, and I know exactly where you're coming from with trying "too hard at living rather than just letting it happen," for it has happened to me several times, and it hurts me to see it happen in people I care about..

The question, by the way, was mostly inspired by a conglomeration of attitudes I've been noticing in both my friends and in the tiny section of the 'Net I regularly patrol in terms of perfection.
Its an interesting concept.

Mille Bournes is a French card game (special deck) that is sold bilingually by Parker Brothers. There is a 'nix version called mille in the BSD games, and its manpage does a good job of explaining its (rather simple) rules.

Recommended by the ed! Perhaps a set can be brought to the ellFplace sometime.
