Wherein the author blames pop culture and self-involvement in the lack of student protests. 'Cmon, do you really believe that students weren't just as self-involved in the 60's? That there were many who demonstrated just to get laid? Of course there were! I'd contend that the issue is that popular culture has synonomized "cool" with "apathy". You can blame James Dean in Devil Without a Cause for that, if you'd like.
