Well, using Google Maps and looking for "foam" on Canal St yields the following business,
Canal Rubber Supl Co Inc 329 Canal St, New York, NY (212) 226-7339
and the street view does appear to match what I recall. I'm checking with my dad to see for sure.
I'm not sure if they do delivery, I think we've always picked up w/ a van or other large car. Unfortunately b/c of the size of the place it's not possible to sit on mattresses, you just have a 1' x 1' x mattress thickness you can fondle and hope to pick the right soft/hardness. I've picked out two mattresses from them in my life, both I wanted on the harder side and successfully achieved it, but I definitely did wish I could actually try out the mattresses before deciding. The mattresses lasted quite a while IMO (the first one has been in my NYC bedroom for the last 15 years or more, my current one I got in 2000), and the only complaint I have is that every couple years it's worth rotating and/or flipping it to prevent a hump in the middle.
