Decide whether to replace or not. If replacing, until you find a replacement either split evenly among remainders, or else in proportion to current rents (if not paying equally), or somewhere between the two. If not replacing, determine how empty room will be used, and split its cost according to usage - if it'll be another common room, split evenly among all users; if two people are using it as an office, they two cover the whole cost and split how they decide. If the missing person is sharing a room, another option is to have the other person pay the amount in full since the others don't benefit from the missing person.
