What is the most equitable solution for the remaining roomies if one is forced out for nonpayment?

An extra $95 per person or $114 per room does not sound good to me. I think the best situation is:

(a) He pays and continues to pay or (b) He leaves ASAP, we rent his room ASAP, and he pays want he owes.

The issue is compensating for potential vacancies. In which case I think continuing to charge him during the vacancy (unfair) or distributing the costs among all of us for a hopefully very short period of (also unfair) are the only real options.

I think we should put out a feeler on CL/elsewhere. See if anyone might be interested in the room nowish to ease the transition--unless he has a miracle play up his sleeve.

Remember, I gave him until Friday. He might do something useful.
