Banality

I've become very banal. Thats what it is.
Obsessed and controlled by the glowing boxes in my life I have lost my ability to imagine things. Or to create them.
But I have no desire to leave them.

I noticed today that there are all these creative people and they are technically quite foolish. I know they're smart, but when I tried to explain the reasons for not using XP Home Edition (and why someone's school's network kicked them off for running it), they refused to listen, blaming it on the school for not allowing them on, regardless of the security holes that XP:HE provides. Nor did they seem to realize that an Operating System is a personal choice that can be made and remade as often as one wishes.

But they're creative and I'm banal.

It's a trade off. Yeah, I can take great photographs, but anything beyond basic computer maintence eludes me.

Lack of creativity doesn't make you banal. It's the inability to appreciate creativity that makes one banal...
