Regarding the post limiting being discussed in [livejournal.com profile] news:
I agree. LJ is a non-for-profit kind of thing. There are plenty of free users who use the service about 40x harder than I do, and I pay. However, 3 posts/day does seem a bit harsh to me. 4 or 5 is more reasonable. And I'm quite conflicted about the paid user limits. I mean, 20 posts is about 10 more than I could ever *dream* of doing (even with communities and such), but I don't like the idea that I'm getting limited in a service I paid for.

Anyways, back to physics. Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] zsparke, where art thou? I thought there was to be physicking. Anyways, I have to get *a*lot* more of this done before tomorrow, since I don't really feel like doing much of any of it between when I get out of modern and the due date at 1700 hrs.

Folding went well. 'Cept that [livejournal.com profile] codepoet and [livejournal.com profile] faboo both failed to show, or do their assignments. Naughty! Oh, and see if you guys can think of things for the Valentine's Day issue coming up next week.

toodles

Being limited to 3 posts a day is ridiculous, no matter if you are using their service for free or not. Some days are just more important than others. Are there really people who post 20 times a day? why not limit them to like 15, then spread the love to the free users?

I forgot that modern was due _tomorrow_ and not friday. And I've been busy all day long...I've had like a total of one hour off and I'm just now starting my physics. :-P.

Well, good night and good luck w/ modern.

And I'm sick of all the bitchy paid users who complain about the "whinny free users" and how we should just get paid accounts to solve all our problems. And as silly as it may sound, I feel less likly to get a paid account now that they are planning on limiting us like that. Even though I barely would need to worry about that limit, I'm sure there would be times I would want to do more. I think 5 is a fairly reasonable number.

I agree -- without a free user base nobody would get a paied account in the first place. The whole point of lj is that you use it to talk to your friends -- and if they're not on their (paied or free) than you won't use it
Honestly if they do limit it to three posts a day i think that i'll prolly stop using the service very much -- at least as far as posting my own stuff. I definitly post more than three entries a day on over 1/3 of the days i post.

I mean i read through some of the comments and it makes sense to cap people who are posting ridicuilous amouts of stuff a day -- and by ridiculous i don't mean 20 -- i mean more like above 30 or maybe 48(two an hour). It makes sense to cap people doing hundreds of posts a day(as some apparently are)

And i understand setting the free user cap lower -- but not that low -- and is it realy true that you lose post you send in if you're over the limit(like that girl was complaining about) -- that's just poor design

sigh

some people were discussing the possibility of a weekly limit, not daily.

sounded better to me

with the posting limits... it kinda makes sense that they would need to do that, but yeah. i can definitely see it causing a lot of problems for people. especially if they are active in a lot of communities. kinda makes me feel like i'm wasting my paidness though, as i only post once or twice in a day if i do post at all...

as for [livejournal.com profile] codepoet and [livejournal.com profile] faboo... i ate them.
