So, I think I've just convinced my dad to vote for the Libertarian candidate for Public Advocate:
Me: So I think I'm going to vote for the Libertarian candidate for Public Advocate.
Dad: Oh?
Me: Yeah, he plans to dismantle the office when he gets there.
Dad: Well, then. Thanks for that little tidbit!
Me: No problem, it's amazing what tidbits there are in the voter guide.

For those of you outside of NYC, you might wish to know that the Public Advocate has no real power, and their only job is to take over for the mayor in case of incapacitation. They are simply a relic of the old city Charter (as in they used to have power, but now just make $150k/year).

That's a pretty high salary for a politician, let alone one that does nothing. I wanna be one!

On the one hand, a useless office to be dismantled. On the other, the last time I spoke to a Libertarian about Libertarianism, I walked away convinced that Libertarianism was barely this side of evil.

Dillemas...
