Well, as far as I can tell (and I'll be calling 311 to confirm), I am qualified to marry people in the Great State of New York.

Therefore, I will be performing faboo and Faelan's wedding ceremony at some point in the (probably) near future.

Awesome.

There's one snag: ULC ministers cannot legally perform marriages in New York City. They are specifically banned from doing so. It might be the state as well, but the city for sure.

It shall be done

and as far as I know, ULC is all good here, a have had a few friends who have gotten hitched by friends who are ordained through ULC here in Roch.

That sounds rather... against the First Amendment. If it's true, I might import the couple just to go to court over it. ;-)

Yeah, if [livejournal.com profile] sinboy and I wanted to get legally married we'd be a test case (my brother, who's performing the ceremony, is a ULC minister).

There's a state-by-state Weddings FAQ (http://www.ulc.org/catalog/faqdesk_info.php?faqPath=10&faqdesk_id=21#NewYork) on their website.
