Oh, and my alma mater has apparently fallen to abstinence-only sex education.

We, as a nation, are going to be a bunch of syphilitic fools within 40 years, not to mention the lack of sanity in our choice of battles, and methodology. Anyone who thinks the folks in charge have the slightest clue as to what they're doing, you should pick up, Chain of Command: the Road from 9/11 to Abu Ghraib by Seymour Hersh for your health.

Well, I meant the overwhelming majority would be. So not only the Prez, but a sizeable portion of the Congress and the Supreme Court. The Democratic and Republican parties would become second parties* to the Syphilis party.

* read "second parties" with the same level of contempt that modern media has for "third parties"

Democrats and Republicans are already marginal. Republicans have lost their last Senator, although there are still a few stragglers in the House.

If abstinence-only education became an issue before the Supreme Court, I'm fairly sure it would win, five-to-four, just like the 2000 election. I'm certain it will in the future, because Rehnquist (one of the Court's last Republicans) won't live four years. Once Bush makes Scalia Chief Justice and appoints John Ashcroft to the vacancy (why do you think he resigned) the Court's a done deal.
