The easy answer is, "What you're good at," but if you need such a thing, you have no idea/faith in what you're supposed to be good at. (Or, even worse, that what you're "good" at is too trivially easy to be a skill/talent/je-ne-sais-quoi worth mentioning, after all, if you can do it, can't everyone?)

Date: 2007-01-31 04:57 pm (UTC)Other times I do something impossibly challenging with the thought that any little progress whatsoever is a triumph. For example, rock climbing, or Feynman's Lectures on Physics. Maybe I can't solve a single problem, or complete a route at all, but getting 10 feet up that wall, or drawing a picture of the situation, I know is something that I can do, and not everyone can do those, so even that eentsy a bit of progress is a good thing.
